A BIM modeler builds intelligent 3D building models that carry the data needed for drawings, quantities and coordination. This roadmap takes you through Revit Architecture, Structure and MEP, Navisworks, Dynamo and cloud collaboration.
Most BIM work starts from CAD drawings. Learn to read and clean up plans, sections and details in AutoCAD so you can model from them accurately.
Learn walls, floors, roofs, stairs, families, views, schedules and sheets. After this you can produce a complete architectural BIM model and its drawing set.
Model columns, beams, foundations and rebar in Revit Structure, then ducts, pipes, cable trays and equipment in Revit MEP, so you can work on any discipline of the model.
Combine models from all disciplines, run clash detection, prepare clash reports and link the model to a schedule for 4D simulation, as done in project coordination meetings.
Use Dynamo visual programming to automate repetitive Revit tasks, and BIM 360 Design to work on a shared Revit model with a team in different locations.
Finish the program and its project — you get the course-completion certificate and a digital completion badge with your name.
Take the certification exam: a theory test on the software of the program and a practical task of the job — at the centre or online.
Pass the exam and get the certified certificate with your marksheet. Anyone can check it online with its QR code.
Your certified badge — add it to LinkedIn and share it anywhere; it opens its own verify page.
Make your CV in your student panel (Career → My CV) — your program, certificates and projects are added for you. Send it as a link with a preview picture, apply to jobs and answer Hire Me requests from companies.

A BIM modeler creates the digital model of a building, with walls, floors, structure, ducts, pipes and equipment, each carrying information such as size, material and type. From that model the team produces drawings, schedules and quantities, and checks that architecture, structure and services do not clash before anything is built.
A typical day involves modelling from drawings or point clouds, creating families, updating the model to design changes, running clash checks, fixing issues raised in coordination meetings and issuing sheets. BIM modelers work in BIM service companies, architecture and engineering consultancies, MEP contractors, large construction companies and firms that deliver models for clients in the Middle East, Europe, the UK, the USA and Australia.
Many large projects and international clients now ask for a coordinated BIM model rather than separate 2D drawings, and India has a large BIM outsourcing industry. Employers want people who understand construction and can model accurately to a project's standards, which is exactly what this roadmap builds.
Learn AutoCAD for drawing basics, then Revit in your own discipline (architecture, structure or MEP), followed by Navisworks for coordination. Model two or three complete buildings for your portfolio and apply to BIM service companies and consultancies.
Revit is the main modelling tool. Navisworks is used for clash detection and coordination, AutoCAD for reading 2D drawings, and Dynamo and cloud collaboration tools are increasingly expected for senior roles.
The full roadmap above adds up to about 324 hours of training. Many students complete it in six to eight months with regular practice on project models.
No. BIM projects need architectural, structural and MEP modelers. Civil, mechanical and electrical engineers can all work as BIM modelers in their own discipline.
AutoCAD is mainly used to draw lines that represent a building. Revit builds a 3D model of real building elements, and plans, sections, schedules and quantities are generated from that one model and update together.
Yes. CADD Training Centre runs live online and classroom batches for Revit, Navisworks and Dynamo. You need a reasonably powerful computer, as BIM software is heavier than AutoCAD.
