A 3D visualizer turns architectural and interior drawings into realistic images and walkthroughs. This roadmap takes you from reading plans in AutoCAD to modelling in SketchUp and 3ds Max and rendering with V-Ray and Lumion.
Most projects arrive as AutoCAD plans and elevations. Learning 2D drafting lets you understand dimensions, clean up drawings and import them accurately into 3D software.
SketchUp is fast for massing, interiors and furniture layouts. After this step you can build complete room and building models from plans and use ready components.
Learn V-Ray materials, sun and artificial lighting, cameras and render settings. You can then turn SketchUp models into photo-realistic interior and exterior images.
3ds Max offers deeper modelling, materials and animation control and is widely used by rendering studios. It works with V-Ray for high-end stills and camera animations.
Lumion renders landscapes, people, vehicles and weather in real time. You can produce walkthrough videos and quick presentation images for architects and builders.
Post-production fixes colour, adds sky, people and greenery and prepares images for brochures. This final touch makes renders look finished and client-ready.
Finish the program and its project — you get the course-completion certificate and a digital completion badge with your name.
Take the certification exam: a theory test on the software of the program and a practical task of the job — at the centre or online.
Pass the exam and get the certified certificate with your marksheet. Anyone can check it online with its QR code.
Your certified badge — add it to LinkedIn and share it anywhere; it opens its own verify page.
Make your CV in your student panel (Career → My CV) — your program, certificates and projects are added for you. Send it as a link with a preview picture, apply to jobs and answer Hire Me requests from companies.

A 3D visualizer (also called a 3D artist or render artist) creates photo-realistic pictures and animations of buildings and interiors before they are built. Starting from an architect's or designer's plans, the visualizer models walls, furniture and landscape, applies materials such as wood, marble and glass, sets up sunlight and artificial lights, and renders still images, 360 panoramas or walkthrough videos.
Visualizers work at architecture firms, interior design studios, real estate developers, modular furniture and kitchen companies, dedicated rendering studios and as freelancers serving clients in India and abroad.
Demand comes from the simple fact that clients approve what they can see. Builders need renders for brochures and sales offices, interior designers need them to finalise designs with homeowners, and architects use them in presentations and competitions. A visualizer who understands plans, lighting and composition, and can deliver quickly, is valued in every one of these places.
Begin with AutoCAD 2D so you can read plans, then learn SketchUp and V-Ray for interiors and exteriors. Add 3ds Max and Lumion later. Build a portfolio of 8 to 10 strong renders, because studios hire visualizers mainly on the quality of their work.
Common tools are SketchUp and 3ds Max for modelling, V-Ray for photo-realistic rendering, Lumion for real-time walkthroughs and Photoshop for post-production. AutoCAD is used to read and prepare the plans that models are based on.
The steps in this roadmap add up to about 280 hours: AutoCAD 2D 30, SketchUp 60, V-Ray 30, 3ds Max 90, Lumion 40 and Photoshop 30. Extra practice on your own projects will speed up your portfolio.
SketchUp is easier to start with and is very popular with interior designers, so most learners begin there. 3ds Max takes longer but gives more control for detailed modelling and animation, so it is a good second step.
V-Ray is a render engine that works inside programs like SketchUp and 3ds Max and is known for realistic lighting and materials. Lumion is a separate real-time tool that is quicker for landscapes, walkthrough videos and fast design reviews.
Yes. CADD Training Centre offers live online classes as well as classroom training. You will need a computer with a capable graphics card to practise rendering comfortably at home.
