STAAD Foundation Advanced is Bentley's software for the design of foundations. Structural engineers use it together with STAAD.Pro to design isolated footings, combined footings, strip footings, pile caps and mat (raft) foundations from the support reactions of an analysed structure. It checks bearing pressure, sliding, overturning, punching and one-way shear, calculates reinforcement and produces detailed reports and drawings, which saves a great deal of hand calculation in design offices.
This 20-hour course shows you the full foundation design workflow. You import support reactions from STAAD.Pro, set up the job and design parameters, define soil and footing data, and design isolated, combined and pile cap foundations. You also model a mat foundation, review design calculations and generate reports and drawings. Every session is hands-on on the software, in the classroom at CADD Training Centre or in live online classes.
Foundation design skills are valuable for structural design engineers and design checkers. Students usually take this course after STAAD.Pro or ETABS, and often pair it with RCDC for RCC detailing.
