Autodesk 3ds Max is 3D modelling, rendering and animation software. In architecture and interior design it is widely used to turn plans into photorealistic still images and walkthrough videos for clients, and it is also used for product visualisation, furniture presentation and games. Design studios, real estate marketing teams and freelance visualisers rely on it when detail and realism matter.
The 120-hour 3ds Max Professional course covers the full visualisation workflow. You learn the interface, viewports, units and scene setup, then model buildings, interiors and furniture with editable poly and modifiers, including importing AutoCAD plans for accurate architectural models. Materials and maps are built in the Slate Material Editor, and exterior and interior scenes are lit with sun, sky and artificial lights. Rendering is done with V-Ray, from materials and lights to cameras and render settings. You also animate cameras to produce walkthrough videos and post-process renders for client presentations. The course is hands-on, in CADD classrooms or live online on a Windows PC with a dedicated graphics card.
Graduates of the course can work as 3D visualisers, interior 3D designers, architectural rendering artists or walkthrough animators. Learners who want faster concept modelling can pair it with SketchUp, and many designers use both.
